RE: TV Purchase Selection Criteria Help Needed

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody. I don't take Consumer Reports but I think I will go to library and check it out...I hope to get a good deal on a recommended type on Black Friday early in the morning...I would bet with the economy in the condition it is in that you will be able to buy any TV you like at Black Friday type pricing between now and X-mas. I am looking also at 32" and there sure are a lot of things to consider. I also am leaning toward one with the built in DVD player. That would be one less box to carry around.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

On a trip, we pulled off the interstate into a gas station getting significant side-to-side motion from all the pot holes in a short gravel frontage road entrance. I'm soon pumping gas and in comes a Super-C. My heart skipped a beat. I wondered if he was going to end up on his side.
That RV was begging for HD sway bars. That sounds like a need for proper rear springs and or shocks. That is not the job of the sway bar under the conditions you described.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

Only problem is price. I made a few inquiries and it appears to cost a bundle. That is the problem with all these expensive bolt ons. They better make you happy now, because when you go to trade the unit in they are not worth 1ยข extra. If you add something expensive like that you better run it till the wheels fall off or take it off before trade in and hope to FleaBay it. How much where the complete kits ?

RE: Electric cooling rad fan verse a clutch fan

I am now in the process of installing a 5 ft length of copper fuel line feed to my my holley tbi and running it close to the motor "not exhaust" so the motor heat will heat the fuel and help vaporize the fuel better to gain more mpg's,, this has worked well with others I have read about on the net,, vaporized fuel has more power and uses less fuel,, will let you know how this works... That is a bunch of baloney. Cold un vaporized gas will make more power and better mileage.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

Has anyone just got rid of the leaf springs and gone with the full air ride suspension ? It almost seems like putting all these expensive band aids on the rear that you are almost to the price of the air ride. The air ride has the sway and trac control built in. Something like this.Link

RE: wireless weather station

Also look into Davis. I have not been impressed with the LaCrosse products I have purchased or their tech support. The phone line is busy and they do not answer e-mails. I have a wired Davis and a friend has a many year old wireless Davis. Both of us are well satisfied.

RE: Kodiac SuperSteer Trac Bar upgrade

=================================
My total cost was a little over $4,000.
The first step is an evaluation ride (~$150) with you riding "shotgun". So they charge you $150 to sell you $4,000 worth of parts and labor ? WOW

Opening POI's in S&T 2009

When trying to open POI's thru the Data tab I can not figure out how to add the Push Pins in different colors. As an example, I plan a route then want to add Flying J POI's and they come up all red. Then I want to add all Pilot POI's and then they also come up red. I think I remember in 2007 version I could change the colors of each added POI. Any suggestions ? Thanx

RE: After TV goes all digitial will the range increase?

I live out in the country with a rooftop antenna. When I hooked up the converter box I lost 3 channels. Guess I will give Satelite a try in Feb.That is what the satellite and cable companies are banking on. They were behind this changeover 1000% all along. They knew how many people it would force to their services.

RE: Downloading music

I "rent" my music from Napster. Costs me about $15/mo and I can download whatever I want in up to 3 different MP3 players. I've downloaded about 1,000 songs so far, only have to be sure and connect at least once a month to synch and renew the music which takes seconds. So if/when you stop paying them $15.00 per month you will lose all the music you downloaded from them ?

RE: Super C Refused At Campgrounds

A while ago I watched a show on TV called RV TV. Don't know if you've ever seen it but it is on the Outdoor channel. On one of the shows Stu, who owns and does the show was staying at a CG in Florida in his Super C. I had remembered reading about the CG and that you had to have a class A to stay there. I sent Stu an e-mail asking how he got to stay there because it was only for class A's. Well he answered me and told me that they considered his coach the same as a class A so there was no problem. I guess it depends on who you are and who you know. Next time tell them you are doing filming for a TV show and I'll bet they let you in. That was what I was thinking about a Super C being considered equal to a Class A for lack of a better description. I thought with a requirement of only a 26'A, they were not trying to only have $500K buses either.
It is no big deal as we will just stay elsewhere. It is their loss of revenue.

RE: Super C Refused At Campgrounds

By the way, just what do you feel in wrong with camping vans or slide ins? Just curious. I don't feel there is anything wrong with them. I just understand why a campground that is attempting to put restrictions on the appearance of it's guests would not want them. Kind of like when you go to a restaurant that requires a jacket and tie. You may be the richest guy in the place but unless you write the owner a check to buy the place, you're not going in with a tee shirt and jeans.

RE: Downloading music

The best site that I have found is our local library. We have a fair music section, and I have found about 5 gig of country music. The licenses are there because it was from the original CD, so no problems with copyrights or anything. I use itunes and a 80 gig Ipod, and burn to CD what I want to hear in the car. They have even more rock, hip hop, jazz, etc than country. Check it out at your local library, I was amazed.
That sounds illegal to me! It doesn't matter if it was the original CD, unless it has been released from standard copyright copying the library's CD onto your computer is still IP theft. I'm no saint when it comes to this but just to be clear, pretty sure you are still on the wrong side of the law. This is the same thing as renting a movie from Blockbuster and copying the movie - it came from the original DVD/VHS.
JYou better send the original artists lots of money. They have your IP address now and the Recording Industry Police will be at your front door very soon.

Super C Refused At Campgrounds

I tried to get a reservation at Blue Ridge Mountains Motorcoach Resort. I saw that it is limited to Class A over 26'. I called to check it out. I was assuming they just did not want a bunch of old van campers and slide ins etc. in there. I was told Class A only. It does not matter if your Super C is nicer and worth many times an old gas powered 26' Class A , we are not welcome.
Has anyone else found this to be an issue at other high end parks ?

RE: Maintaining Tire Pressure for Kodiak Chassis

Thank you, AZ99 for your quick response! So I rushed out to my RV, which is in a storage yard 3 miles away, and again I went through the owner's manual. Once again, the manuals for both the chassis and the house state that the tire pressure should be "properly inflated". I looked around for a sticker that would tell me what the tire pressure should be and I found it on the side of the driver's door. The tire chart reports that the tire pressure should be 95 psi - front and back axels.
I whipped out my tire pressure gauge and set the tire pressure to 95 psi. That's something my trusty air compressor can handle.
Thank you, again! The 95 PSI on the sticker is for the vehicle at max weight. If you want to adjust the tires to the actual weight, just lookup the tire size, model and manufacturer on the web. It will tell you exactly how much to inflate the tires to. You will also need to know the actual front and rear weights when loaded. After I weighed mine I determined that I needed 85 PSI based on Michelin's chart. It rides much better from 95 to 85. Good Luck

RE: Maintaining Tire Pressure for Kodiak Chassis

The sidewall is marked with MAX pressure. At 115 PSI it will ride like they are filled with concrete. I have a 34SS also.

RE: Maintaining Tire Pressure for Kodiak Chassis

What pressure are you trying to run ? I run 85-90 PSI and my 110 PSI compressor is fine for the occasional adding a pound or two.

RE: Why don't people switch from Windows?

Most people can barely use Windows much less go to an operating system that would require all the extra effort. I would love to dump Windows also but there are just too many other issues with program compatibility. Even switching to an expensive Mac is a lot of work.
